On April 23, 2018, the Prime Minister issued Official Letter No. 536/TTg-CN, approving the assignment of PetroVietnam Power Corporation (PV Power) as the investor for the Nhon Trach 3 and Nhon Trach 4 gas-fired thermal power plant projects.The Nhon Trach 3 and Nhon Trach 4 power plant projects were approved by the Prime Minister for inclusion in the revised National Power Development Plan VII (PDP7) under Decision No. 212/TTg-CN, dated February 13, 2017. Subsequently, the Ministry of Industry and Trade approved the adjusted master plan for the Nhon Trach Power Center’s construction site under Decision No. 3453/QĐ-BCT, dated September 6, 2017.

 The total installed capacity of the two plants is projected to be approximately 1,500 MW.

 The Nhon Trach 3 and Nhon Trach 4 Power Plant project is located in the Ong Keo Industrial Park, Nhon Trach District. This positions it at the heart of the southern region’s load center, serving three major load areas: Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, and Ba Ria – Vung Tau.
